Transforming the creche

Over the last couple of weeks the crèche has been undergoing a radical transformation as some artists have used the front wall as a canvas for a very colourful mural! Lieschen and Heidi led the transformation and designed and drew the picture onto the outside walls! The picture was completed through a paint-by-number system enabling even the most unartistic of us to get involved!

House Painting

On Saturday the 8th November a team of us went out to the creche to give it a new coat of paint. Together with Vivi we had settled on a colour called "Coffee Liqueur", a light brown. The morning went off well and Vivi was really happy with the final result. Thanks to everyone who helped!

Building update!

We have sorted through all the pledge forms and for those of you interested in donating money we felt it would be good to let you know what our current needs are for the renovating and fixing of the crèche. Thank you to those of you who have already donated money, that money has been put into the Synergy account and will be used towards the following needs:

As you can see all added up there is quite a large amount of money needed, however any contribution (whether large or small) goes a very long way and will be greatly appreciated by both the team and Vivian.

Viv's and the crèche

Meet Vivian! She is an incredible woman! If you could meet her you would be so inspired and challenged by her life! She is the lady who will own and run the crèche. All we are doing is helping her get the crèche started up! And this little house is the house that will soon become a play of nurturing for some little people!

extreme crèche makeover

Our starting point of seeing Ncede street transform is to start to a crèche! An incredible woman called Vivian who many of us have known over many years has a passion and a vision to start a crèche. To help set up the crèche, the church has bought Vivian a little house a few houses down from where she lives. Come January 2009 this new little house will open its doors to the little people of Extension 9, where there is currently no crèche!

Between now and early next year a fair amount of work needs to happen to get this house ready! The development team and I (Wends) have been absolutely awestruck and amazed at the incredible response we have already had! You are all amazing!

One of the main purposes of setting up this blog is to keep everyone up to date on what is happening! This crèche is not a 'development group thing', it's a 'family thing' and we want everybody to know what is happening. So we'll keep updating this blog! I've been trying to upload the video we played at the Sunday service but my limited technical skills seem to have been defeated! But will keep trying!
